POLICE have charged ten men in connection with an incident in a Lancaster pub in which a Preston man died.
Police were called to a disturbance at the Sir Richard Owen Wetherspoon pub on Spring Garden Street, Lancaster, at about 4.15pm on Thursday, April 23.
Dave Bolton, 45, a self-employed carpenter from Preston, was discovered seriously injured at the scene and was taken to Royal Lancaster Infirmary. However he sadly died on Friday, April 24. A post mortem examination established cause of death as head injury.
Police have today charged ten men in connection with the incident.
Gary Woodward, 44, of Ayr Court, Fleetwood, has been charged with violent disorder.
Daniel Schofield, 21, of Highcross Road, Poulton, has been charged with violent disorder.
Andrew Matthews, 25, of Poulton Road, Fleetwood, has been charged with violent disorder.
All three have been released on bail will appear before Lancaster Magistrates’ Court on August 11 2009.
In addition, Samuel Bolton, 21, of Bannister Hall Drive, Higher Walton, Preston, has been charged with violent disorder.
Jake Bolton, 19, of Bannister Hall Driver, Higher Walton, Preston, has been charged with violent disorder and one count of assault occasioning ABH.
Ian Wright, 29, of St Cuthberts Road, Preston, has been charged with violent disorder.
Robert Taylor, 54, of Malvern Avenue, Preston, has been charged with violent disorder and one count of assault occasioning ABH.
Stephen Dixon, 44, of Ribbleton Avenue, Preston, has been charged with violent disorder and one count of assault occasioning ABH.
Wayne Jackson, 35, of Manor House Lane, Preston, has been charged with violent disorder.
Ryan Brown, 26, of Hatfield Road, Preston, has been charged with violent disorder.
All have been released on bail and will appear before Lancaster Magistrates’ Court on August 13 2009.
An 11th man has been released no charge.
