Dozens injured in Blackpool Pleasure beach ride crash

Investigations are underway to establish the cause of an incident which occurred on the Big Dipper wooden rollercoaster on Tuesday 11th August, at approximately 7.50pm.
Emergency services attended the incident. There were 32 riders in total. 21 people attended A&E, of these 20 were treated and later discharged. 1 male, aged 25, was admitted with facial injuries. 1 person is believed to have suffered a minor arm fracture. Of the 21 people who attended, the youngest person was 7 and the oldest 51. The majority of those who attended were treated for neck and back pain with minor bruises to legs, arms and chest.
The Pleasure Beach team are working closely with the emergency services and the Health and Safety Executive to establish the cause of the incident.
