Gemma Dee makes History!

Last month Blackpool Tower announced that they had applied for a licence which would allow couples to marry at the very top (not just the ballroom), something that’s never happened before… ever! Lancashire was excited. On Monday (8th September) news broke that the application had been successful, and that the Tower were looking for the very first couple to trade vows, the lucky two who would go down in Lancashire history. Follow so far? Two days later, on this morning’s Adam @ Breakfast, Gemma received the latest in a long run of wedding related suprises, in the shape of Geoff Sage, general manager of Blackpool Tower, with a shock invitation (if you can’t put two and two together and guess what it was then a) you should really have a word with yourself and b) just click on the player above to hear the audio again).

For the record, they accepted, so it’s official: October 24th 2008 will now go down in history for two reasons; the union of Miss Gemma Dee and Mr Pylon Man, and the day Blackpool Tower became Britain’s most famous wedding venue!
