Cash for Kids Team

Have you ever wondered who the brains behind Rock FM's Cash for Kids are?! Well wonder no more! Below you can meet the Cash for Kids Team and hear more about what they get up to on a daily basis.

First up, the coolest Cat on the block...meet Courage!

Courage is the Cash for Kids Mascot and when you see some activity going on for Cash for Kids, he won't be far away (usually causing mischief) You can invite Courage to your events when fundraising for Cash for Kids too, he loves to get out of Rock FM and make new friends!

Next up, Rock FM's Cash for Kids Charity Manager Nikki Thompson!

Brief background about Nikki:

I joined Cash For Kids from a former life as a very serious Commercial Banking Manager.  I have always done a great deal of volunteering and charity fundraising in my spare time and came to CFK in Septwember 2010 after helping to organise a ball in aid of the charity. I am married with two gorgeous children who love the fact that Mummy works with superstars like Courage the Cat.

Favourite CFK memory so far: Making Ross go on the Big One naked and meeting all the gorgeous children we have helped so far.

Claim to fame: Held a world record for taking part in the world’s biggest communal tap dance with Roy Castle.

Hobbies: Music, Rose wine, sweets and spending time with the kids

Goals for the future: To make Cash for Kids Lancashire's biggest children’s charity and help 1 million children.

And finally, Cash for Kids Charity Executive, Rose Finnigan

Brief background about Rose:

I joined Cash for Kids in January 2011 after working for Rock FM on their street team for 2 years. I have volunteered for Cash for Kids in the past and love the charity so when a vacancy came up to work here, i jumped on it! I've lived in Preston most of my life so i feel very close to the work we do and what we aim to achieve as a charity. I trained as a chef before working at Rock FM and also worked for a year at Manchester United (Playing for them, obviously!) Now i spend my days working with a brilliant boss, doing an amazing job while trying our very best to find a way to get our own radio show. Preferably in the afternoon if our programming director is reading this. Many thanks.

Favourite CFK memory so far: All of it, we have the best job in the world!

Claim to fame: Well, it's not MY personal claim to fame but I was mistaken for Liz McLarnon (From Atomic Kitten..sort of famous?) in Preston once and was asked for photos, autographs and was also thanked for visiting a lady's neice in hospital and singing to her...it was far to awkward for me to say it wasn't me by the time i realised what was going on so i went along with it! I was also an extra in Hollyoaks and Waterloo Road...a clear highlight in my life!

Hobbies: I am a huge music fan, i love going to gigs and have been playing the guitar since i was about 6 years old! I love going out and being with my friends and family, going to the cinema and doing things i've never done before. Apart from skydiving.

Goals for the future: We want to make Cash for Kids the biggest success it can be and help as many children as we possibly can! On a personal level, i'd like to play at a huge gig, meet Bon Jovi and go travelling!
