Thanks for today's session at The Platform Caroline. It was great! Hannah told Andy that it had really helped to lift her mood, which is wicked.

When we arrived at Rock FM, I was slightly worried that I wasn’t good enough to record so I was a little insecure, when we thought of our tasks and decided them, (we were doing a film review show), we started to gather information on the internet using the ODEON website to find the movies we were looking for, this should’ve taken fifteen minutes, it took us an hour! We kept bickering over things but eventually, we knuckled down and managed to start writing our scripts. The day after we came in to record all the things, it went unexpectedly well and we went on to do the other recordings for the songs, after this we had lunch and typed this. I think Rock FM was an amazing experience and I would love to do it again, apart from the bickering at the start it was a totally great experience.

I was very nervous when we arrived at Rock FM. At first I thought it was a church but when I got in I saw that it was the Rock FM Studios. The tour was cool and I enjoyed writing the scripts.  The recording was quite nerve wracking but I soon got over my initial nerves.  It was very exciting when we were told that Professor Green was here and I enjoyed having my photograph taken with him.

The young people seemed to get a lot out of the day, and it was great to see their confidence grow. Caroline was energetic and enthusiastic, despite some opposition from the young people to get involved.

On the 22nd November 10 students from Saint Aidan’s took part in a financial advice session with Dr Chris Burke from PFEG. Dr burke gave our students several exercises designed to give them an awareness of how much money they spent and where they spent it. He also gave them great advice on budgeting and making you outgoings match your incomings.

I think that the advice he gave the students was very sound in these days of quick credit and student loans. Acquiring the skills needed to budget properly is now more relevant than ever. Chris’s advice was very clear and included a series of tasks for the students designed to get them thinking seriously about their finances. His best advice to the students was to ask their parents for an allowance and then to limit their expenditure to that allowance. He said you were never too young to learn to manage your own money.

Worthwhile for School leavers - very interactive and fun.

A fun way of informing young people about apprenticeships. 97.4 Rock FM have made us feel very welcome. NLTG were able to interview potential applicants and let them know about current jobs available.

We had excellent attendance over the two days and some excellent calibre of applicants, Caroline was fantastic over the two days with staff and applicants and made us feel very welcome.

Thanks from all at NLTG!

Thank you so much for all the time and effort you and your team put into the session yesterday, you have a great team there and it was good to meet them and also have them involved, I wouldn’t like to think what it would have turned out like if they hadn’t been there! Everyone I have spoken to thought the session was fun but informative and really enjoyed taking part and one of our team members said that anyone that had not managed to attend had missed out on a very enjoyable couple of hours, ca'nt really say anymore!

We have had a fabulous two days at Rock FM – the support from Caroline and her team has been excellent and the activities have been engaging and challenging. The boys have certainly improved their communication, social and organisation skills. Thank you very much!

This is the second year our school has been a part of the Boom Radio, and we are delighted with the project. Boom Radio allows our pupils to learn creative skills in an innovative and fun way that they can identify with. The training days were excellent and the pupils learned all the neccessary skills to create their own shows confidently. Communication has been excellent throughout and any issues or questions we have with the project are answered immediately, a real plus point for a busy teacher.

I believe radio is an important tool when creating an exciting curriculum for pupils of all abilities and I would highly recommend Boom Radio as a way of introducing this to a school.

Thank You for letting us (from St. Augustine's) spend the day at Rock FM/BOOM Radio/Magic studio. I really enjoyed my time there and wished we could have had stayed there for much longer. I especially liked recording the shows because we got to see how radio works. When we briefly got to hear the few clips played back that went wrong, it sounded really funny!

Choosing the songs was easy because we all just chose our favourites, but when we had to write the scripts I realised how hard it really is!

Thanks you also for the day of journalism in summer, which was really fun too! I think now I will start listening to boom Radio and I will look out for our request show and real show!

Thanks again. We won't forget this day!

Richard Rose Central Academy have been very proud to have participated in such a well structured, well prepared and enjoyable learning experience. Our children involved in creating the podcasts had a wonderful time, as well as gaining new skills in media and creating resources available for revision.

We are looking forward to having these revision aids available to use for our children in a world where it is more important than ever to have up to date strategies to engage children in their learning!

Many thanks to Caroline and Boom Radio, we looking forward to cascading this throughout the whole school!
